ITC is very happy to share the news that Isuzu was came in second in the Brand of the Year category at the 2020 Cars.co.za Consumer Awards. This information was made public on 6 February 2020 at a glittering gala event held at the Kyalami Grand Prix circuit. Proudly conducted in collaboration with the support of WesBank, South Africa’s largest vehicle finance provider, the #CarsAwards is now in its fifth year and has become known as one of the country's foremost automotive awards programme due to its diligent judging procedures
Isuzu South Africa is very proud of the fact that we ranked so highly in the Brand of the Year category, since this decision was based on the input of consumers alone. The rest of the categories are subject to the input of consumers, as well as social influencers, South African celebrities and motoring journalists.
The Cars.co.za test team that accounted for 50% of the votes in other categories comprised their own road test members, as well as a panel of guest judges who were instrumental in the initial testing phases, which were partly conducted at Gerotek in Gauteng this past November. Their aim was to compile a judging panel that would represent pure motoring expertise, as well as analytical, non-motoring input from media professionals who would ultimately represent the South African consumer on test days.
In an interesting turn of events, the judges favourites did not take top honours in no less than 13 categories. This shows the impact of the consumer data derived from the Cars.co.za Ownership Satisfaction Survey that was contributed by everyday South African motorists, based on their own experience of their vehicles (which had to be less than 5 years old and exclusively serviced through accredited dealerships).
